We will celebrate our youth and give them the tools to gain new skills through traveling to Africa!
Orijin is the Haitian Creole word for origin and our goal with this project is to introduce the beauty of the African continent to Afro descendants, bridging the disparity gap in regards to access to travel for our youth, and fill an important part of self actualization and cultural experience. Furthermore, we want to offer young high school graduates identifying as Afro-descendants, an opportunity to return to their ancestral land for the richest growth experience that we can offer them!
We chose Rwanda as a base for this project because it represents the perfect example of resiliency and the capacity to emerge victorious, and thrive. We project to accompany our first group of young adult in 2025.
The Orijin Project mission is to empower a new generation of connected, committed, and inspired young Afro-descendants adults, between the ages of 18-20. Orijin Foundation wants to assists in shaping a promising future for the young Afro-descendants individual and the global Pan African community. The Fellows will participate in a 10 to 15 day program, where they are encouraged and supported to strive towards their personal and/or professional destination. Fellows will be introduce to a plethora of activities enriching their cultural and personal experiences through immersion.
Rwanda has an array of cutting-edge companies, socially conscious organizations, top-notch educational institutions, and warm communities that will welcome these young adults during their stay and help them build lifelong connections with both the people and the continent.
This is the high school graduation gift that we want to offer our youth before they embark in this thing called life!
You can contribute to the project by travelling with us as part of an ongoing fundraising effort. Funds accumulated will help provide financial assistance in maintaining the project alive and strong, and to offer partial sponsorship for the future young adults selected. What are you waiting for? Connect with us. Connect with the continent!
